Just before beginning the long journey home to North Carolina, Andy P. shows us one of the projects he made as a learning exercise. It is a split cross (made from 1 piece of steel) riveted onto a forge welded ring.

One of the American Blacksmith School's work stations. Each student has his own forge, anvil, vice and hand tools. The slack tub in the foreground with  2 water cans resting on it is shared by 2 work stations.
